Taplist does not work with digital signage apps

I tried putting our taplist on a digital signage player and noticed this error message:
Refused to display ‘https://taplist.io/taplist-385364’ in a frame because it set ‘X-Frame-Options’ to ‘SAMEORIGIN’.
This results in a blank white screen, since I assume the signage player’s wrapper is not playing nicely with this setting.

Hmm, interesting! Wasn’t really designed for embedding but if it’s easy to support, why not. I think we can open up the xframe options, at least for the display URL.

Out of curiousity is this signage app something I could see for myself i.e. something public?

Sure. Here’s the public preview link:

I’ve removed the X-Frame-Options restrictions from the display view. Give it a shot!

Also, one “undocumented” tip for your custom app (such as it is): Instead of using your site’s unique URL, you can configure the digital signage thingy to use the special URL https://taplist.io/display, to treat that browser as a linkable display. This should allow you to customize what appears on that specific screen, versus using the “defaults”.

Probably only interesting if you have multiple displays, and I’m not sure if your digital signage app is going to play nicely, throwing it out there for you in case it’s interesting.
