Would 100% get me back to the product after being away trying alternatives.

Ideal timing possibly with house move and brewery build coming up!!!

Alright!! We’re on it!

Great to hear, too. I have a maybe weird additional reason for building this: I have one old AppleTV and one old iPad that I’d love to keep out of the e-waste landfill. Give 'em a second life showing off beers!

That’s a really good thought. I’ve currently got an idle iPad that doesn’t do much other than trying to get keg ninja on it. An iPad mini for Tilt and then the Apple TV for proper use.

In the new Garage brewery this will all be in the one room so will be able to have the mini for ‘customers’, the iPad mounted on the kegerator and the ATV in the background when there’s no sports on.

Exciting!

I hit IPad but I would use Apple TV as well!! Especially to keep old electronics still useful!

Wow there are way more responses here than I expected!

I have good news: The app is working! We will be opening up a TestFlight beta real soon; initially just for AppleTV, but with iPad to follow. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: We have an AppleTV beta ready!

I need a handful of testers who:

  • Have an Apple TV running TvOS
  • Are willing to download the beta and give it a try
  • Are willing to report bugs and suggest improvements!

If you are interested, please reply here and I will send you details. Thanks!

Still got a couple spots open - reply or DM if you’d like to give the Apple TV app a whirl!

Interested in testing beta pls

Happy to help where I can.

Update! We’ve opened up the beta to everyone! The instructions are now in the top post of this thread. Please join and share feedback if you can. Thanks!

Been playing with the Apple TV version this morning for my homebrew bar (when I move).

Have to say it’s really smart looks really nice on the big screen. Will play with the iPad version when I’ve got some charge in the iPad.

@mikey what limitations on iPad models are there?

@siclifford ah thanks for the feedback! And the photo looks great!

Limitations on models, hmm, there shouldn’t be too many. Right now the build targets iOS 13; I am not sure if it is possible to support older OSs (I believe very old ipads might fall under this). If you’ve got a specific device I can research!

hello, the beta version is incompatible with ios 9.3.5

I’ll have a play with my older devices and update here.

Thanks @ercole.fe - looking into rebuilding with support!

Original iPad doesn’t work.

It’s easy to check as TestFlight tells you whether it’s supported. Admittedly not good if looking to buy an old device.

Unfortunately, now that we’ve looked into it, Apple is making it tremendously difficult to support older devices - you can’t even target them on recent XCode/MacOS versions. We’re going to focus on getting this out the door for modern devices first — reliability and ease of use being the top priorities — then circle back to unlocking more devices. Sorry for the news.

Think this is the right idea.
